Ironic

Isn't it ironic that 68% of the troops polled are voting for McCain? I don't really think it is, but I imagine some of those "bring the troops home" protesters are scratching their heads right now. Maybe they should have asked the troops they are trying to save what they thought!! I'm not really that surprised with the poll. Having family members in the military I have a pretty good idea how our troops are feeling. I think they are proud of what they've accomplished and I think they are discouraged by what they hear back home. I guess they don't want a Commander in Chief who doesn't even think they should be doing what they're doing. In all honestly, I fear most for those who serve our country in the military should Obama be elected because I know what it was like under Clinton. 8 years with no raise in pay. Not to mention dwindling of defense jobs. Interesting... I think this is likely a reaction to having lived through those years!

They say that in polls around the country Obama is in the lead.

How likely is it that people when polled say they are going to vote for Obama so they dont look like a racist? Even though they are planning on voting for McCain.

It is possible, and CLEARLY the media will report whatever they want to from the polls. I just think we won't know until Nov 4 because the sampling used in polls is so small and random.

As for the racism, I don't think it will be a huge factor - sexism for sure, though. ;-)
