I will admit that I'm a total skeptic when it comes to global warming. Partly because I don't trust Al Gore one iota! But mostly because it just doesn't seem to be happening the way everyone predicted. I'm also not sure it's going to be quite as devastating as we keep being warned... and it's so darn expensive to "fix" it - which I don't really believe we can do anyway. Of course, articles like
this one just cement my skepticism. What say you, Al Gore? I mean, because he's such a scientist and all. Even invented the internet! ;-)

I am not a fan of Al Gore, either. On the other hand, I think there are groups of scientists who come to very different conclusions on this issue. So, are we experiencing global warming? I honestly don't know.
What I do feel is that regardless of the answer, it is our responsibility to do the best we can at actively minimizing negative impact on the planet. Reducing emissions, conservation, recycling, minimizing waste and pollution...these all seem like no brainers to me.
I actually don't think we are... but I agree with you that we can do WAY more to be better stewards of our environment. Being in Europe, where they practice on a great level recycling, minimizing pollution and conservation, I can see the areas where we fail to take the threat we are to our environment seriously. The day is coming sooner than later when we will deplete the natural resources in the US just as they have already in many parts of Europe. Instead of living like we are nearing that day, we live like it really doesn't matter at all.... oblivious!
