Widows

CNN has a heart-wrenching piece today on widows in India. I must admit, I knew little about the plight of a widow in that country, but I'm so thankful the same cannot be said about widows in this country! The life of a widow is not easy at any stage of life or in any country, but to be shunned by all, unable to marry again or earn a living.... it's really just a sad state. I really believe that this is another form of bondage created by a false religion. I hope this article heightens awareness not only about an injustice far away, but a reminder everywhere that we need to better minister to widows and orphans in our own corner of the world.
