Why is Bono telling the church about poverty?

Here are some great notes from a speech Tony Campolo gave at Grove City by a favorite student of ours!=-) Thanks, LB!

And the answer to that question: The church is walking around with it's eyes closed spending money on stained glass windows.

It's totally true, and so is everything else she has shared. I encourage you to check it out, and hopefully more....

I've heard Campolo speak...very insightful and entertaining. He challenges the church to look at its goals and motivations. Sadly, we often lose sight of our mission to 'the least among us.'
While I do not promote spending money on stained glass instead of people who are starving, I do not want to demonize any expression of faith. A musician offers her voice in praise, as an artist offers her paintings or stained glass. But, I expect that Campolo was only illustrating common sense, not suggesting we purge ourselves of religious art. :-)
