White House '08
I'm feeling a little queasy about who might end up in the White House (again) in 2009. I'm not losing any sleep over it (just yet) because I'm just trying to make it through the summer! Who really is the lesser of evils is the way it is for me. I don't feel like any of the viable candidates really represents me and my concerns, my beliefs, my standards. To put it simply and bluntly: I don't want some old guy, I don't want some old (cheating) guy's wife nor do I want to lose half our income to pay for everyone else's health care, crazy greenhouse gas solutions or embryonic stem cell research! Does that only leave Ralph Nader, who I don't even know anything about, but I'm sure he'd fit in my little rant somewhere? I'm queasy because I see little hope for our next four years. The glass, in this case, is not half empty. It's dry.

I don't like the choices, either. It's sad when you have to look forward TWO presidential elections b/c the candidates in the first one are that awful.
Yup, just pathetic. And I should clarify, I'm not interested in paying for someone elses medical insurance WITH THIS SAME MEDICAL INSURANCE setup! I want a full reform of how we even do medical insurance before we start paying for other people to have it. I believe in health insurance for everyone, especially children who have no way of providing it for themselves.
Whenever I say that same thing about medical insurance--that everyone should have it--Chris suggests that I go live in a socialist country to see how that pans out. But, I'm not saying the government should run it, just that we need to figure out how to do it better and across the board.
Having the government run health care... NOT a good idea. Having pharmaceutical companies run health care... and even worse idea. Having malpractice lawyers take over health insurance costs... the worst idea. I have no idea what the solution is, but we need reforms, cost control, malpractice control and more options - and health care for all children. I don't really see my miracle worker in this bunch of candidates (maybe not at all!!)
